First impressions...no matter what happens in life, first impressions will always play a factor in many areas of your life. From meeting new people to buying a property to selling your property first impressions can be key to if you'll give a property or person a second chance.


When selling a property, you will often hear about "drive up appeal" and it is not just a line. Often buyers will do a "drive-by" of a listed property to get a feel for it and if they don't like what they see from that, they often will not even want to book a viewing to see the interior. That is why it is key to put just as much emphasize on the exterior as the interior. If they don't even want to stop when they go by, no point spending thousands inside the home that they will never ask to see. 

 

When thinking of drive-up appeal, often the little things get missed and sellers just focus on the big picture such as lawn, gardens, etc. It can be the simpliest of things that can often catch a buyer's attention. This week we'll look at how your front door can speak volumes to a potential new homeowner.  

 

I just had a conversation this week with a client regarding their front door. It is something that we as an owner tend to often not even notice anymore as it is something you use every day. But when it comes to selling, it is sometimes those little details that can make a difference and it can often take a Realtor's eye to point it out. I found an article that looks at how to choose a color for your front door. There are many things to keep in mind and it looks at how you can use your exterior and your surroundings when making the decision.
