Lifelong Learning in Our Lives

Happy February!  I am starting out the month by attending RE/MAX's Western Canada yearly 3 day conference. This 3 day event touches on everything from technology to motivation to advertising. We have a variety of speakers from North America's foremost business coach Richard Robbins to one of Canada's funniest comedians Gerry Dee from the hit show Mr. D to Canada's best selling author Neil Pasricha. Mr. Pasricha was an amazing speaker. His book "The Book of Awesome" focuses on how sometimes the simpliest of things in life can bring us the most happiness. It has been a great event so far in not only for the many realtors that I have met but from the knowledge that I will take back home with me.

For me, learning has always been a lifelong passion. Whether it is about technology or learning different skills to use around the house, it is something that many of us do without even realizing it. There are many avenues out there from taking courses to just hanging out and helping out a friend when they are renovating. Many people thrive in a live group setting where they feed off the information around them while the next person goes online and can get a degree without ever leaving the house.

If you are looking to expand your knowledge, you can check out Thompson River's University in Williams Lake to see the variety of Continuing Studies they offer in the community. There are courses from photography, learning Spanish, to learning how to market on the internet, just to name a few. Sometimes it is just a matter of joining a local group such as the Williams Lake Field Naturalists where you learn about the world of nature in the Cariboo/Chilcotin. Maybe you need a change in your exercise routine ('tis that time of the year) and need to learn a new way of exercising your body. The Cariboo Memorial Recreation Centre offers a variety of outlets where you can either drop in or sign up for a number of weeks.

The possibilites are endless and its a matter of what you'd like to take on next. If you'd like to learn a little more about the real estate market, do not hesitate to give me a call. If you'd like to learn how you can purchase an investment property, we can look into all the possibilities that exist.

So enjoy your learning. I always say you are never to old to learn something new.
