When renovating, the kitchen can be the toughest of all the rooms in the house to tackle. Not so much because of its complexities, but probably more so because you can spend a fortune if you are not careful. This is often an area when many go "overboard" as they want their dream kitchen. This is not to say it is a bad thing as why not treat yourself when you have worked hard for it. The complications arise if you suddenly decide you need or want to sell and all that dough you put into your dream kitchen is a tough one to tack onto the price tag of the house. If you bought when the market was low and are selling at a higher point during its cycle, you might be able to get back some of the funds you invested into the space but if it is opposite, you may have to just count your loses or hold off until the market comes back up which...is unpredictable. So if you are planning a big reno, keep in mind what the big plans are as this will dictate how far you go with the budget.
Part of a kitchen reno usually includes a backsplash. With so many options to choose from these days, it can be overwhelming. I found a great quiz that looks at a variety of questions to ask yourself when renovating this area. Take the quiz & see what your results tell you.
